Nanolucent was founded by professionals who combine business experience, technology, management, scientific discovery and medical/clinical experience.

Anthony HumbleExecutive Chairman and  Co-Founder Nanolucent. Tony is serial entrepreneur and an angel investor within renewable energy, clean and biotech. He is the Chairman of Teloregen Inc. and the co-founder of biotech company, PhotoSonX Inc. Tony co-founded a mortgage technology company that went public on the Toronto Stock Exchange, and achieved a half-billion-dollar market cap before being bought and taken private by an industry group. Tony has a Bachelor of Commerce degree from Carleton University. 

Bill Porter, Dr., MD. Chief Medical Officer  and Co-Founder Nanolucent. Dr. Porter is an ophthalmic surgeon and an innovator in the field of sono-photo-dynamic therapy (SPDT). Dr. Porter has spent the past 12 years in Guangzhou, China supporting the SPDT work of the Golden Sands Bay Cancer Clinic. Prior to that, he was a partner in a cancer clinic in Ireland, he and a Harvard Medical school colleague discovered the therapeutic effect of ultrasound in activating photosensitizers deep in the body, to successfully treat many different forms of cancer. Bill has a medical degree from North Western University.

Eva Jorgensen, Chief Executive Officer and Co-Founder Nanolucent. Eva founded and operated a successful consulting business for the past decade, serving small, medium and Fortune 500 companies. Eva has industry and consulting experience leading and implementing global operations projects involving integration of new products, globalization of sales and distribution, operations and after sales service. Eva holds a M.Sc. in Production Engineering from the Technical University of Denmark and is a Lean and Six Sigma Master Black Belt. 

Susan Malik, Chief Financial Officer Nanolucent. Susan is the founder and President of Clear Insight that provides part-time executive and financial services, advise and support to start-ups and entrepreneurs. Susan is a highly experienced finance leader with specialties in in financial control, reporting, accounting, cross-border expansion, M&A and risk and compliance. Susan is a CPA with an undergraduate degree from the University of Toronto.

Minhaj Qidwai, Dr. MD, M.B., B.S., M.P.H., M.B.A., C.M.C, Public Health Consultant Nanolucent. Dr. Qidwai has more than three decades of international experience in Health Management, Administration, Marketing, Research, Human Capacity Building and Academics; in different capacities in Pakistan, Middle East, and North America. He has collaborated with organizations like UNICEF, WHO, CIDA, OPM, Canadian Cancer Association, Mississauga Board of Trade, and Canada Pakistan Business Council. Dr. Qidwai graduated from Dow Medical College-Karachi-Pakistan and holds an MBA from University of Hawaii and an Master of Public Health (MPH) from The University of Oklahoma.

Ying Liu Dr. MD, Director Investor Relations, Canada Nanolucent. Dr. Liu is a licensed attending physician who practiced Western Medicine in China for more than two decades. She was responsible for clinical work in a medium-sized hospital (approximately 100 inpatient beds) where she performed diagnosis and treatment of patients in the ER and outpatients department for 25 years, and later she worked in the outpatient department of the 5,000 bed Western China Hospital of Sichuan University. Having lived and worked in China for many decades, Dr. Liu has a deep knowledge and understanding of Chinese society and the Chinese medical industry, and has accumulated a wealth of network resources.  Dr. Liu is currently involved in a Chinese Medicine practice in Vancouver, British Columbia. Dr. Liu obtained her medical degree at Sichuan Vocational University in Sichuan Province, China and since immigrating to Canada in 2018, Dr. Liu has also graduated from the Canadian College of Medicine.

Maxim Batalin, Ph.D, CEO of Lucendi, Inc. Maxim spearheaded the raising of $3.5M in funding for their pioneering work in AI-based digital holography. Prior to Lucendi, Maxim was an Associate Director of UCLA Engineering Institute for Technology Advancement. He is focusing on technology advancement, commercialization, business development and program management and has extensive experience leading product innovation in startup phases within biomedical,  (e.g. mHealth and innovations in healthcare cost optimization), robotics and sensor networks, data mining, classification and sensor fusion and IT infrastructure design and development. Maxim holds a B.Sc. from University of Oregon, a M.Sc. from the University of Ukraine and a PhD in Computer Science (Robotics and Sensor Networks) from University of South California.

Professor Aydogan Ozcan, PhD., Founder, President and Scientific Director of Lucendi Inc. Dr. Aydogan Ozcan is the Chancellor’s Professor and the Volgenau Chair for Engineering Innovation at UCLA and an HHMI Professor with the Howard Hughes Medical Institute, leading the Bio- and Nano-Photonics Laboratory at UCLA School of Engineering and is also the Associate Director of the California NanoSystems Institute. Dr. Ozcan is elected Fellow of the National Academy of Inventors (NAI) and holds >45 issued/granted patents and >20 pending patent applications and is also the author of one book and the co-author of >700 peer-reviewed publications in major scientific journals and conferences. Dr. Ozcan is the founder and a member of the Board of Directors of Lucendi Inc., Hana Diagnostics, Pictor Labs, as well as Holomic/Cellmic LLC, which was named a Technology Pioneer by The World Economic Forum in 2015. Dr. Ozcan is also a Fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS), the International Photonics Society (SPIE), the Optical Society of America (OSA), the American Institute for Medical and Biological Engineering (AIMBE), the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), the Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC), the American Physical Society (APS) and the Guggenheim Foundation, and has received major awards including the Presidential Early Career Award for Scientists and Engineers, International Commission for Optics Prize, Biophotonics Technology Innovator Award, Rahmi M. Koc Science Medal, International Photonics Society Early Career Achievement Award, Army Young Investigator Award, NSF CAREER Award, NIH Director’s New Innovator Award, Navy Young Investigator Award, IEEE Photonics Society Young Investigator Award and Distinguished Lecturer Award, National Geographic Emerging Explorer Award, National Academy of Engineering The Grainger Foundation Frontiers of Engineering Award and MIT’s TR35 Award for his seminal contributions to computational imaging, sensing and diagnostics. Dr. Ozcan is also listed as a Highly Cited Researcher by Web of Science, Clarivate.
